Technical · pH & materials
The pH we publish, and the pH we don't.
Lactaz publishes a pH figure for 12 of its 14 grades, from a descaler at pH ~1.3 to a food-grade degreaser at pH ~11. Those 12 are plotted below, each at the figure its own copy states, with the published tolerance drawn as a band. The remaining 2 have no published pH and are not on the ruler at all.
pH ruler, 0 to 14
Bands show the tolerance Lactaz publishes. Vertical Surface is published only as an upper bound, so it is drawn as an open interval with no marker — there is no point value to plot.

Band boundaries are the ones used across this site: acidic below pH 3, mildly acidic 3 to 6, neutral 6 to 8, alkaline above 8. Target soils are the ones each grade's own copy lists, not a property inferred from its pH.
pH not published
2 grades are not on the ruler.
Lactaz does not state a pH for these grades anywhere in its published copy. They are kept off the ruler on purpose. Placing them by the company they keep — a degreaser near other degreasers, a descaler near other descalers — would be a guess printed as a measurement.
